Get out your spending money and take a trip round Chesterfield Area, after all, spending on holiday is fun – even if you weren’t born to shop.
Search out bargains at Chesterfield’s open air market, or rummage among the stalls on the Flea Market and, who knows, you might find a priceless antique in disguise! Don’t miss the Chesterfield Artisan Market on the last Sunday. The St Thomas Centre on Chatsworth Road holds a food market on the first Saturday of the month, where local small businesses come and sell their delicious produce.Other market towns in the Area are Bolsover and Staveley.
If it’s cold outside, or even if it isn’t, call at Chesterfield Market Hall to find old fashioned sweets at Auntie Dot’s, the award winning Fred’s Habadashery, the Fruit and Nut stall which does just what it says on the tin and lots more. Have coffee and a cake at the Market Café before you leave.
There are speciality shops throughout the area including Northern Tea Merchants just outside Chesterfield, Bolsover Antiques Centre, JMJ Pottery and lots more.
Then there are shopping centres like the Forge at Dronfield, Dobbies at Barlborough next door to junction 30 of the M1, and the Pavements Shopping Centre and Vicar Lane outdoor shopping centre in Chesterfield. If you really were born to shop, don’t miss the East Midlands Designer Outlet just off junction 28 of the M1 and Meadowhall with its massive range of shops, eating places and multiscreen cinema just down the road in Sheffield.
