Let’s give you a taste of the events on offer in Chesterfield Area, starting with the Chesterfield Area Walking Festival with walks from a couple of miles to the 34 mile Chesterfield Round Walk challenge.
The Chesterfield Festival of Cricket will see Derbyshire County Cricket Club take to the most beautiful ground in the country in Queen’s Park. Bolsover Food and Drink Festival will serve up all kinds of sweet and savoury morsels and tasty tipples. Let’s add the Great British Food Festival at Hardwick Hall which provides just the recipe for a great weekend. Bolsover Festival of Brass is one of the leading brass band contests of today

Chesterfield Market plays host to events all year round, from the Medieval Fun Day in July to the 1940s Market in October. From the Well Dressing in September to Chesterfield Pride in July. And then there’s the regular markets like the Artisan Market, Flea Market and Open Air Market. So many days to choose from!
Chesterfield Theatres offer a fantastic range of live shows, from West End musicals to ballet, from children’s shows to tribute concerts, from drama to ballroom dancing and comedy to pantomime. Don’t miss big events like Ashover Show, the ‘friendly’ countryside extravaganza, and Cromford Steam Rally (which quirkily takes place in Brackenfield), and the major events at Chatsworth – the Horse Trials in May and the Country Fair at the end of summer.
