About
Chesterfield once had three breweries which made it the second largest brewing town in Derbyshire. There was nothing micro about the original Brampton Brewery. It produced 30,000 gallons of beer a week and that’s almost ¼million pints! It closed in the 1950s after 130 years of brewing success.
Brampton was re-born as a micro-brewery in 2007 with passion as its driving force – ale that’s brewed with passion will be consumed with passion. Building on the dreams and ambitions of the original Brampton Brewery, the team has taken the inspiration of the Victorian brewing legend and adapted it to the tastes and demands of 21st Century Britain.
The result is a rich, handcrafted collection of award winning cask-conditioned ales and craft beers; each defined by their own unique character yet all sharing the same intent to charm and entertain.
Today, the award-winning Brampton Brewery operates three thriving cask ale pubs including the Rose and Crown and Tramway Tavern, an off-sales shop and serves a local free trade area covering Sheffield to Burton-on-Trent. It’s currently producing 10,000 pints per week.
