About
Brearley Wetlands is was designated as a Local Nature Reserve because of the rare invertebrates that are found there. Brearley Wetlands is a good place to spot butterflies and migrating birds. Habitats include wet grassland, hedgerows and scrub.There is a route in the Reserve that is wheelchair accessible.
There is limited parking on the road.

Road Directions
From North/South
Leave M1 motorway at junction 29 and follow A617 to Chesterfield (approx 4 miles). At traffic light controlled roundabout select right hand lane and take 4th exit (A61). At traffic light controlled roundabout (Tesco) take 2nd exit (A61). At next roundabout (Little Chef) select right hand lane and take 4th exit (B6025) towards Eckington. Follow road for approx 1 mile, passing Meadows Community School and turn right into Burbridge Road. Take 3rd left turn into May Avenue.
From East
Follow A617 to M1 motorway junction, then follow route from North/South.
From West
Follow A619 from Bakewell to Chesterfield. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Lidl on left) select middle lane and take 3rd exit. Keep in left lane and at traffic lights go straight on. At roundabout select middle lane and take 2nd exit (A632). Turn immediately left into slip road to A61. At traffic light controlled roundabout (Tesco) take 2nd exit (A61), then follow route from North/South.
Accessible by Public Transport: Chesterfield station is 4 miles away.
