About
Multiple award-winning winemaker Kieron Atkinson uses grapes grown and hand-picked at the historic vineyard at Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire to make his award winning wines. The fruit travels only a handful of miles to be turned in to wine - no imports or exports occur, and all the wines are crafted and monitored by Kieron personally, until ready for sale. Renishaw Hall wines are multiple medal-winning, with accolades including the Decanter World Wine Awards and IWSC.
The range of award winning wines include a sparkling white, sparkling rosé, and still red, white and rosé wines. There is also a Pét Nat, a 100 % ‘Wild Wine’ which is created using no additions and wild fermentation.
Pick up the wines at outlets across the Peak District, including Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop, Mitchells Wine Merchants, and from the Visitor Centre at Renishaw Hall itself, as well as online.
Ex- Army officer Kieron retrained as a wine maker at Plumpton, the UK’s only university of wine, before taking on Renishaw Hall Vineyard in 2010. Today he offers vineyard tours throughout the open season, where visitors can enjoy exploring one of the country’s oldest producing vineyards, which was once the most northerly in the world!
All vineyard tours include tasting a range of the award -winning wines as well as learning about making wine and the English wine industry. Tours are on selected Sundays between April and October, with private tours available throughout the year. Book on a vineyard tour online.
Before or following a vineyard tour, visitors can enjoy lunch or morning coffee or afternoon tea at the Café at Renishaw Hall.
