About
This ancient custom is all but unique to Derbyshire. It's the art of decorating wells and springs with pictures made using only natural materials. Barlow is unusual in that whole flowers rather than individual petals are used in the creation of their Well Dressings. This works because the Wells in Barlow are very large so using individual petals would be very time consuming!
Well Locations:
Main well, Hackney Lane, opposite Peacock Pub (S18 7TD)
Outside Village Hall on Millcross Lane (S18 7TA)
Valley Road, across road from Tickled Trout (S18 7SG)
