About

Do you need help identifying your mystery object or archaeological treasure?

Come along and meet Meghan King, the Finds Liaison Officer for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who is based at Derby Museum and Art Gallery.

Meghan will provide an introduction to the Portable Antiquities Scheme, the Treasure process and explain her role within the Scheme. She will bring a handling collection so that attendees can handle typical objects recorded by the scheme and she can take in finds found by the public, in order to identify and record them on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database.

You are welcome to drop in but to help manage numbers and make sure you secure a slot, bookings are advisable. Please email meghan@derbymuseums.org

If you are interested in local archaeology, Derbyshire Archaeology Day also takes place at the Winding Wheel on the same day. Tickets can be booked in advance online.
