There’s so much to do in Chesterfield Area that you’re really spoilt for choice. Here are just some of the things that will keep you active while you’re here.
Chesterfield Area has one of the best networks of cycle paths in the country. Bring your bike to try out the Five Pits Trail, the Bluebank Loop, the Cuckoo Way alongside the Chesterfield Canal and the Phoenix Greenways including the Silverhill and Teversal Trails. There’s more on our cycling page.
There are so many places to fish in Chesterfield Area, from specialist fisheries such as Barlow and Press Manor to lakes and ponds in our country parks. You can also fish in Chesterfield Canal and the lakes in Hardwick Park. Find out more on our fishing page.
If golf is your passion, there are golf courses and driving ranges in abundance. Close to Chesterfield town centre, you’ll find Tapton which has 18 and 9 hole courses and a pitch and putt. Out in the countryside you’ll find Shirland, Renishaw and Stanedge clubs. Check out our golf page.
Step out into our beautiful countryside with a walk round the bluebell woods at Linacre Reservoirs, or alongside the Chesterfield Canal. Take your best foot forward on one of the walks that are part of the Chesterfield Area Walking Festival. Find out more on our walking page.
You can go ten pin bowling at Chesterfield Bowl, take the kids to Chatsworth Farmyard and Advenure Playground, try out the gym at Queen's Park Sports Centre or the climbing wall at the Healthy Living Centre. There are sports centres across the area that offer swimming, squash, badminton and lots more.
